Dmitrik beats Kynard

In dramatic men competition Russian World medalist from Daegu Aleksey Dmitrik beat Olympic silver medalist Erik Kynard from USA. But Kynard won the overall Moravia High Jump Tour as Dmitrik was not at the first leg. They both had clean vest until 228, then Dmitrik 230 in second, but Kynard and first and led. But Dmitrik showed an excellent jump getting over 232 in third. He then gave the happy public three nice attempts at would-be PB 237. "It will come, I like Hustopece, it was not my first win here. I will return in future and jump this. Now to concentrate on qualifying to Sopot. I need to win the Russian jumps as Ivan Ukhov already got the bye," said Dmitrik who will next jump in Arnstadt but will also wait to see the results of the Russian Winter where most of his rivals from Russia will compete. Kynard commented: "I need more work, but I will be there, I enjoyed this meets with music." Third 2007 World champ Donald Thomas with 228 (passed 230 and tried at 232) with explosive Romanian Mihai Donisan fourth also 228 but very close misses at 230. Fifth Trevor Barry after 225 passed 228 and went straight to Sopot standard 230. Britons followed sixth Robbie Grabarz and 7th Tom Parsons, both 225 with close misses at 228.
