The High Jump legend I. Babakova is coming

Another High Jump legend is coming to Hustopeče. As a coach of the Austrian high jumpers, the former World Champion Inge Babakova will be presented the Youth and B competitions on Saturday afternoon. This Lithuanian athlete originally represented the Soviet Union and later Ukraine.

She participated at the Olympic Games three times and she always made her way into the finale. In 1996 she won a bronze medal when she jumped over 201 cm at the Olympics in Atlanta. Four years later in Sydney she ended up 4th (196 cm) and in 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens 9th(193 cm).

From 1991 to 2001 at the World Championships she has gained in total 8 medals. The most valuable one she won in 1999 in Sevilla, where she became the World Champion. In addition, she ended up four times at the 2nd place and three times at the 3rd place.

With her personal best of 205 centimeters, she is among the world"s top ten women high jumpers of all times.
